anyway I have no idea what I am doing. Please look at my settings and listen to this sample I uploaded and offer any advice, I don't know how to use this stuff.

@DrSevenSeizeMD Audition was super easy for me to learn just by messing around, but YouTube has great tutorials that'll give you rundowns on how to use them. Audition also has built in tutorials!

Sometimes with analog equipment like that, it's best to play by ear with the dials. In terms of software Audacity is the easiest. I so envy that equipment. Right now I use a smartphone mic for my voice work. One of the reasons I wanted to succeed financially was to get stuff like this. Right now I'm thinking of making a sound proof booth. So I can emote more without disturbing my neighbours.
I just compared your newest recording with some of your older stuff. The audio is much better now. The higher frequencies are a lot more clear and your old mic was bumping up the mids a bit which was making the audio sound a little more chalky/muddy. It might be hard to hear the difference depending on what you use to listen back, but rest assured the money spent wasn't wasted.
Audacity is great for making simple recordings and doing light edits. I'm open minded if someone wants to debate the issue, but IMHO unless you're doing a ton of chopping/reassembling/parameter automation, you really don't need a full on DAW unless you happen to like the interface better. If you just need to be able to record your voice and maybe do some basic adjustments like EQ, Compression, Limiting, etc, audacity is perfectly fine.
Anyone can feel free to disagree with me. There may be aspects I haven't considered.
Thank you! I will just be using it to do free voice acting for anyone around here who needs it. I'm not a professional or trying to go pro. Just want to be able to help NG peeps on a budget and I want the sound I send them to be higher quality than what I previously had.

Sounds great Seven! It's definitely more crisp. A good DAW to record on is Adobe Audition or Reaper. Audacity limits you from getting the most out of your mic!

Which one is easier? I am admittedly not twch savy. Like I understand audacity. I will pay extra money for an easier program! Lol
