An important but unpopular announcement

Posted by DrSevenSeizeMD - September 3rd, 2022

You won't be able to find anything on the media about this but I'm giving you guys a heads up because it just keeps getting worse and worse.

Don't visit New Orleans right now.

I love New Orleans. I love the French Quarter. I love having beignets at Cafe du Monde on the Mississippi River at sunrise.

I love the aquarium, the zoo, the museums, the culture.

Do NOT visit New Orleans right now.

The crime is out of control to a point I'd compare it to like a dystopia in a video game or some shit.

You will be mugged or murdered in broad daylight in the middle of the city.

In front of a cop.

The average response for 911 calls right now is between 2-6 hours and if no one died, they don't even show up.

Like if you get carjacked, they just tell you to fill out a form online.

They will specifically seek out folks with a New York or Boston accent. They love mugging Yankees.

The media is doing a great job keeping the situation hush hush, but as a Louisiana resident, I probably won't be back to New Orleans for years.

My endocrinologist is down there and luckily he's willing to do FaceTime appointments with me via Oschners.

If you MUST come down here for Mardi Gras or whatever, hit up a smaller city like Lafayette or Carencro or anywhere in southeast Louisiana that is not New Orleans. You can still party and go to parades and drink and get amazing Cajun Creole food without dying.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

damn I always wanted to go along the lake pontchartrain causeway

You're probably safe to drive thru but don't stop, lol

Sorry about the ordeals you go through in New Orleans. I myself have a similar problem with Scarborough. Can barely sleep some nights due to the many gunshots heard from the distance.

Your food is worth dying for, though.

what happened? did you put sugar on grits again?

I've put sooooooo much sugar on my grits, but never in New Orleans......maybe that's what it needs?
